Ina Garten is an American author of cookbooks on cooking and Emmy Award-winning host of the Food Network's most popular program, Barefoot Contessa that debuted in 2002 and will run for 27 seasons till 2020. Ina was employed in the White House as a writer of nuclear energy policies and the budget. Although she found her job to be stimulating intellectually, eventually she dropped interest and decided to purchase a smaller specialty food store - Barefoot Contessa. She spent eighteen years making the store extremely successful before letting it go before acquiring a pen to begin writing her first cookbook. Numerous magazines and cookbooks came later. Another success came from the Food Network Television show. Her range of items spans from kitchen equipment to ingredients as well as storage containers. Ina is a self-taught cook who has never gone to a cooking academy or employed in the kitchen. Her name is known for her effortless style of entertainment as well as her simple food preparation.
